Every project has its own needs, so I create custom quotes based on the scope of work. That way, you know exactly what’s included, what it costs, and how we’ll move through the project before anything begins.

Below you’ll find the ways I typically structure fees depending on the size and nature of the project.

Flat Rate

For smaller one-off projects with a clearly defined scope, I provide a flat rate quote. Once I understand the project requirements, I’ll outline the full fee, what’s included, and the timeline before we get started. This keeps things simple and gives you a clear understanding of the investment from the outset.

For smaller flat-fee projects, payment is due on delivery and no deposit is required.

Best for smaller, one-off projects

Phased Payment

For larger projects, I usually recommend a phased payment structure. This spreads the investment across key milestones and helps keep the project moving in a clear, manageable way.

A typical structure looks like this:

  • 20% deposit to begin
  • 30% at the first milestone
  • 30% at the second milestone
  • 20% on final delivery before files are released

Best for larger projects

Monthly Retainer

A monthly design retainer gives predictable access to creative support at a set rate—ideal for organizations needing regular help without hiring full-time. Retainers require a minimum three- or six-month commitment based on organization size and scope. Allocated hours are used within the month and do not carry over, keeping scheduling predictable and administration simple while ensuring ongoing, prioritized design assistance and measurable quality outcomes consistently.

Best for ongoing support

Ready to talk about your project?

Send me the details and I’ll put together a quote. No obligation, no pressure — just a clear picture of what’s involved and what it costs.

What affects the Cost

No two projects are exactly alike, but these are the factors that most often shape the final cost:

  • Scope — how many deliverables are involved and how complex each one is
  • Timeline — standard timelines are built into every quote; rush timelines may affect pricing
  • Content — whether copy, photography, and assets are provided or need to be sourced or written
  • Revisions — most projects include two to three rounds; additional rounds may be quoted separately
  • Vendor coordination — if print, fabrication, or production coordination is part of the scope

If you’re unsure how these factors apply to your project, I’m happy to walk you through it. I’d rather clarify things early than have surprises later.

What every project includes

No matter the size of the project, every engagement includes a clear written quote, a defined scope, and a smooth hand-off at the end. You’ll know what’s included, how feedback will work, and what to expect along the way.
